Are you wondering How to Wrap a Lacrosse Stick with VukGripz Lacrosse Stick Tape? Is it different? Do you have to pull tight? Our Award Winning, industry leading lacrosse stick tape is easy to use and to apply to any lacrosse stick with a few simple tips!
Apply the grip tape Edge-to-Edge!
Edge-to-Edge application will protect the edges of the grip during use, especially from the constant sliding occurring by the hands.
Overlapping the lacrosse wrap will cause raised edges. This can be done, but the wrapper/player/parent/coach should be aware that raised edges could cause the grip to wear faster. So, Edge-to-Edge application is best with your VukGripz and will keep your product under warranty!
Don’t Stretch or Pull Tight!
Pulling tight will cause the edges of the lacrosse grip tape to curl in and stick to itself.
Keep your hands together when applying.
Use your thumbs to stretch/manipulate the lacrosse tape around the stick!
Remove the Backing of the Lacrosse Tape as you Apply!
Remove in small sections to keep the grip stiff/stable/supported
NOTE: Removing the backing in large sections will expose our industry leading adhesive and will cause the grip to become more flimsy in that section. The backing of the grip provides support to the lacrosse grip during application
Apply finishing tape to both ends of the lacrosse tape!
The finishing pieces ensure a nice sliding transition for your hands from the lacrosse stick to the grip.
These pieces will also protect the beginning and finishing ends of the grip during use too!
PLEASE NOTE: Replace finishing tape as needed with electrical tape or with athletic tape! These alternatives are great for lacrosse by being thin and are strong enough to protect the ends of the VukGripz. Replacement timeline is as needed (IE: after a practice; after a game; as the player/coach/parent sees fit)
Cutting the grip to apply in different locations
If wish to cut your VukGripz, you can do so. Please cut in a diagonal direction, away from the stick, to give the grip a finishing edge and to give the remaining grip a starting edge.
Try to make the diagonal a few inches long so the taper isn't step. Be sure to cover all exposed ends of the grips with finishing tape.
Please note: Use electrical tape as needed to replace the finishing tape! Ensuring that the ends are covered is key to ensure longevity of your VukGripz!
